Holding a PhD in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Dr. Beckford spearheaded The SMB Consulting Group, a dynamic and ultramodern boutique learning and organizational development consulting enterprise that enabled clients’—from individuals to organizations, including Fortune 100 to 500 companies—success by improving individual effectiveness through "soft" skill enhancement training. Having worked with clients spanning across multiple industries and diverse sectors, she's gained advanced expertise in social and emotional skills training, distance learning, coaching for development, curriculum design, dynamic leadership, talent mainframing, and project management.
Dr. Beckford is an active community leader and civic servant with a deep-seated passion for learning and helping others. Proudly, she has served on the National Board for the Society of Emotional Intelligence (SoEI) as well as acts as the Chairperson of the SoEI - South Florida chapter and Vice-President/President Elect for the University of Miami Alumni Association's Broward 'Canes Community. She also speaks at professional and industry conferences, leads skills development workshops, and attends various community events. In her spare time, she volunteers for various organizations, such as Broward Public Schools (K-12), Feeding South Florida, and the Florida Diversity Council.
